WCS Hub Privacy Policy

WCS Hub Privacy Policy

Effective date: 8 September 2026

WCS Hub is a West Coast Swing practice-coordination app published by Antigrav Design Studio LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what the app collects, why, who else sees it, and what you can do about it. It covers the WCS Hub mobile app and antigrav.design/wcshub. We do not sell your information, we do not share it with advertisers, and there is no advertising, analytics or crash-reporting software in the app. [edited 9 Sep]

Information you give us

Information you give us

  • Your name and email address, used to sign you in and to identify you to other people in a practice.

  • A profile photo, if you choose to add one. Optional.

  • Your home city, which you type or select. Used to sort and filter practices by distance.

  • Your dance level and role preferences per practice: Lead, Follow, or either.

  • A Venmo handle or payment link, if you host a practice that costs money. Optional, and visible to people attending that practice.

Information created as you use the app

Information created as you use the app

  • RSVPs — which practices you have joined, which role you hold, and whether you are on a waitlist.

  • Comments and reactions you post on a practice page. These are visible to everyone who can see that practice.

  • Practices you create, if you host: title, description, date and time, location, cost, and any links you add.

  • Your notification preferences, per practice and as your saved default.

  • A push notification token for each device you sign in on, so we can send the notifications you have turned on.

  • Whether a host has recorded you as having paid for a practice that costs money, and any practice credits a host has granted you.

  • Whether a host has removed or blocked you from a practice they run.

What we do not collect

What we do not collect

We are naming these because people reasonably assume otherwise:

  • We do not collect your device’s location. The app never asks for location permission and cannot read your GPS. Distance is measured from the home city you typed.

  • We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind. There is no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, and no crash-reporting SDK in the app. Nothing you do in the app is reported to anyone outside it. [edited 9 Sep]

  • We do not process payments and never see payment details. If a practice costs money, you pay the host directly outside the app — the app only shows the host’s payment link. We never collect card numbers or bank details.

  • We do not read your contacts, your calendar, your photo library at large, or your microphone.

Permissions the app asks for

Permissions the app asks for

  • Photos — only when you tap to choose a profile photo or a practice image. We receive the image you pick, and nothing else from your library.

  • Notifications — only if you agree, and only to send the notifications you have turned on. You can turn them off at any time in your device settings or in the app.

  • Calendar — only when you tap to add a practice to your calendar. The app writes that one event. It does not read your calendar and no calendar information is sent to us.

How we use your information

How we use your information

To run the app, and for nothing else: to sign you in, to show your name and photo to other people in practices you join, to seat people in roles and manage waitlists, to notify you about practices you have opted into, to let hosts manage their own practices, and to keep the service working and secure.

Who else sees it

Who else sees it

Other people using the app. Your name, photo, dance level and role are visible to other people in a practice you join. Comments you post are visible to everyone who can see that practice. A host of a practice you join can see that you have joined and can record whether you have paid.

Service providers who process data on our behalf, and only for that purpose:

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or ourselves. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

How long we keep it

How long we keep it

We keep your account information for as long as your account exists. Practices, RSVPs and comments are kept as part of the record of the group, so that other people’s history stays intact. When you ask us to delete your account we remove your profile information as described below.

One anonymous record is kept after an account is deleted. [new 9 Sep] When you delete your account we keep the reason you chose and the date, together with a small, deliberately vague sketch of the account: a broad description of the area you were in, roughly how active you were, roughly how often you invited people, roughly how long you had been here, whether you ever hosted a practice, roughly how recently you had last used the app, and whether you were on an iPhone or an Android phone. Every one of those is a wide band — “top quarter”, “over a year” — and never a number. It carries nothing that identifies you and no link of any kind back to your account, and the area is widened until it covers at least 25 people, so it cannot point at one person in a small scene. We keep it only to notice patterns across many departures — for example, a lot of active people leaving at once — and we read it in aggregate. It cannot be traced back to anyone, nor can it be deleted on request.

Your choices

Your choices

See or correct your information — your name, photo, home city, dance level and notification preferences can all be edited in the app at any time. Turn off notifications — per practice, per category, or entirely, in the app or in your device settings. Delete your account — you can do this yourself in the app, from your profile settings. Your profile, your photo and your RSVPs are removed straight away. Comments you have posted stay where you wrote them, with your name and photo taken off, so that other people’s conversations are not rewritten. If you host a practice, it passes to another member so that nobody loses their place; if there is no one to pass it to, it is removed along with your account. One anonymous record is kept, described above. You can also email wcs-support@antigrav.design if you would rather we did it for you. [edited 9 Sep]

Security

Security

Access to your information is restricted at the database level, so that people can only read and change the records they are entitled to. Data is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
